An Apple iPhone user ordering fresh fruits and vegetables through the quick-commerce app, Zepto, is charged more per item when compared to a buyer ordering the same products through their Android phone.
For example, one kilogram of onions that was priced at ₹43 in an Android phone was priced at ₹57 in the Apple iPhone. Even in the case of a single order of four Shimla Apples, the iPhone user was charged ₹123 while the Android phone user was charged only ₹100.

The discrepancy in price was seen in the case of multiple fresh vegetable and fruit-based products offered through the app. Android users also appeared to get more savings than iPhone users when calculated against the product MRP.
Prices for packaged goods, such as milk and instant noodles, were equal on both devices.

Upon adding the same set of fruits and vegetables to the Zepto cart, the Apple iPhone user had to pay significantly more than the Android phone user.
This difference in price for fruits and vegetables remained the case even when both the items were ordered to the exact same delivery address.

However, the Apple iPhone user’s order was slated to arrive one minute earlier than the Android phone user’s order, even though the address was the same.
