Nothing to launch Phone 3a series on March 4; crosses $1 billion lifetime revenue

Nothing on Thursday (January 30, 2025) officially announced the name its upcoming smartphone series during the Community quarterly update. The London-based tech startup will launch the Phone 3a series, which is scheduled for March 4.

Nothing said that company will focus on ‘core user needs of camera, screen, processor and design’ with the Phone 3a series.

Nothing has partnered Flipkart for the launch of Phone 3a series and a notify page has also been created.

“For the (a) Series we have a different set of users. When people buy a smartphone, some are looking for the greatest specs, they want the latest innovations and processors. Yet there are some other users that are equally excited about tech but are happy with just a great user experience - that’s who the (a) Series is for,” said Akis Evangelidis, Nothing’s co-founder.

It is expected that the Phone 3a series might feature two phones: Phone 3a and a Pro model for the first time. They probably ship with Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15 out of the box.

Nothing is also expected to increase the telephoto capabilities in the Phone 3a series.

The phones could make use of both MediaTek and Qualcomm processors, but not certain yet.

Additionally, Nothing claimed that the company has surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue since its founding in four years ago in October 2020. “Over half of that revenue came in 2024,” it said.

“We entered 2024 with the aim to build on the successes of Phone (2) and Ear (2), with Phone (2a), Phone (2a) Plus and CMF Phone 1. We brought those products to market and started to build scale around the business. That obviously gives us amazing top line revenue growth. It’s super exciting to have achieved that and we’re excited to see what we can achieve in 2025,” added Tim Holbrow, Nothing’s Chief Financial Officer.
