Apple iPhone SE 4 launch speculated: Expected changes, features and price

Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone SE 4 ‘this week’ for the masses who do not have the means to spend ₹80k on a regular series iPhone. The special edition (SE) phones have also been Apple’s tryst with the transitioning buyers from Android to the closely guarded iOS ecosystem. But, till date, only three variants have been launched, and if the things go as expected, this would be the launch year of Apple iPhone SE 4. The last iPhone SE launch happened in 2022.

Since Apple had already killed the iPhone mini variant, it would like to continue with the SE variant for the emerging markets like India, where content consumption is among the highest due to the availability of 5G.

Traditionally, the iPhone SE variants offer a compact screen size (4.7 inch in iPhone SE 3), single lens at rear and back.

However, for the new iPhone SE 4, it is expected that a 6.1 inch OLED screen will make its appearance offering a typical 60 Hz refresh rate and 1,000 nits peak brightness.

For the new age 5G buyers, Apple could use A18 processor in the iPhone SE 4 but without Apple Intelligence features. There could be a 4GB RAM supporting the SE 4. Out-of-the-box, iOS 18 is expected.

Apple iPhone SE 4 might see a 48 MP main camera at the back and an 8 MP front camera.

Type-C charging port is anyway become compulsion for the U.S. based company to ship across the markets, and the iPhone SE 4 believed to use it.

Historically, Apple chooses March for the launch of iPhone SE variant but given that Google Pixel 9a launch is also on the horizon, the iPhone maker would prefer to launch the iPhone SE 4 early, if at all.

However, Apple has not given any hint for the iPhone SE 4 launch and if it happens, it’s going to be through written press announcement only.

Price wise, the iPhone SE fits into premium segment (above ₹30k) and if the speculated launch of iPhone SE 4 happens, tomorrow, this week or next month, it would also land in the same price bracket and more precisely, above ₹40k.
