Apple-owned Beats launches Powerbeats Pro 2 fitness earphones with heart rate monitoring for workouts

Apple-owned Beats on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) launched the Powerbeats Pro 2 fitness earphones for the athletes, adventurists and power users on the go. The Powerbeats Pro 2 is compatible with both iOS and Android platforms.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 provides heart rate monitoring for workouts using the LED optical sensors glowing over 100 times per second to measure blood flow. The real-time date can be witnessed upon the compatible apps like Runna, Nike Run Club, Open, Ladder, Slopes and YaoYao in India.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 features an earhook design, built using the nickel titanium alloy. It comes in two separate earpieces which are worn over the ears. For the tip, Beats offers five ear tip sizes: extra-small, small, medium, large and extra-large.

Beats claims that the Apple-designed H2 chip used in the Powerbeats Pro 2 can give up to 45 hours of battery life with the charging case, with each bud offering up to 10 hours of playback per charge. In a five-minute charge, it also claims to provide up to 90 minutes of playback. The charging case is 33% smaller than its predecessor and Beats’ first-ever case to support wireless charging, the company said.

Powerbeats Pro 2 brings active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and Adaptive EQ. The fitness earphones have personalised spatial audio with dynamic head tracking. It also supports Dolby Atmos.

The Powerbeats Pro 2 is IPX4 rated which makes the earphones resistant to sweat and water.

For controls, each earbud has a tactile volume rocker. On-ear buttons or Siri can also be used to control music. Each earbud is equipped with a voice accelerometer and three microphones for noise isolation.

Powerbeats Pro 2 comes in Jet Black, Quick Sand, Hyper Purple, and Electric Orange colours at ₹29,900. It can be ordered starting tonight on Apple Store India with the open sale from February 13.

Beats has also partnered with LeBron James, Lionel Messi, and Shohei Ohtani, for the Powerbeats Pro 2 launch.

“Powerbeats Pro 2 is the most impressive product in Beats ’history — developed to withstand intense training sessions and equipped with our most innovative technology and powerful sound,” said Oliver Schusser, Apple’s VP of Music, Sports, and Beats.
