Qualcomm launches Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 mobile platform for the mid-tier smartphones

Qualcomm on Wednesday (February 12, 2025) launched the new Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 mobile platform for the mid-tier smartphones. The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is capable of bringing gen AI features to the devices.

Qualcomm announced that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 is expected to ship in Realme, Oppo and Honor smartphones in the coming months.

The 5G processor claims an 11% improved CPU performance due to Qualcomm Kryo CPU, up to 29% better GPU performance with the Adreno GPU, and 12% power savings.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset supports LPDDR4 RAM up to 16 GB and LPDDR4X internal storage.

The 4nm processor can support FHD+ display up to 144 Hz with HDR10 and HDR10+ benefits.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 has one prime core (up to 2.3 GHz), 3 performance cores (up to 2.2 GHz) and 4 efficiency cores (up to 1.8 GHz).

The mid-range processor offers up to 200 MP photo capture. It is compatible with Bluetooth 5.4 and above and also supports lossless audio.

The Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 supports up to Wi-Fi 6E.

“Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 will drive the next leap forward for smartphones in the mid-tier thanks to significant advancements in AI, gaming and photography,” said Deepu John, senior director, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
