Meta announced LlamaCon, a new conference scheduled to take place on April 29 this year, for the Facebook-parent to discuss its generative AI progress and the advance of its Llama AI models in a developer-centric setting.
“At LlamaCon, we’ll share the latest on our open source AI developments to help developers do what they do best: build amazing apps and products, whether as a start-up or at scale. Mark your calendars: We’ll have more to share on LlamaCon in the coming weeks,” said Meta on its website.
AI integration across Meta’s apps is key to the company’s growth strategy, apart from making its newest models available to more users worldwide.
Meanwhile, the social media giant announced that its Meta Connect event will take place on September 17 and 18. It is expected to focus on developments concerning virtual and mixed reality developers, content creators, metaverse mavens, and AI glasses, per the website.
News of the LlamaCon conference comes just days after Meta began laying off employees this month, citing their performance. The social media company also announced an end to fact-checking on its platform, as it adopts a Community Notes-style feature similar to X.
