Apple is reportedly integrating Google Gemini into Apple Intelligence. A report by 9to5Mac has revealed that the backend code for the iOS 18.4 beta included Google as well as OpenAI as options for third-party models within Apple’s AI system.
However, the news had been announced last year with Apple exec Craig Federighi confirming that the iPhone maker company would partner with Google Gemini to include other AI models.
The outlet noted that this still doesn’t mean that Gemini will be a part of the iOS 18.4 update.
Besides, Apple is also working on an upgraded version of Siri which is being called “LLM Siri” within the company and will be rolled out mostly with the iOS 19 update.
The Apple Intelligence rollout hasn’t been the smoothest with the Tim Cook-led company saying they would update their AI news summarisation tool after complaints from the BBC about inaccurate news headlines that were attributed to them.
