Uber announces free Shuttle ride till February 1 between Delhi and Gurugram route

Uber on Friday (January 24, 2025) announced unlimited free air-conditioned bus rides on Uber Shuttle till February 1 for commuters between the Delhi and Gurugram route. The mobility company said this will increase adoption among the travellers.

Uber said that commuters will be able to pre-book seats up to a week in advance, track the live location and route of the bus, and view its expected time of arrival (ETA) in app.

“Uber does not allow any standing passengers in the bus to ensure the quality and safety of the ride.”

For the safety of Shuttle passengers, Uber will provide round-the-clock support, including access to a 24X7 Safety Line, within 30 seconds.

Uber got a license to operate buses in Delhi under the State Government’s Delhi Premium Bus Scheme in May 2024.

“We’ve seen a tremendous response to Shuttle ever since its launch last year. Our goal is to have more people travel in fewer vehicles and help address traffic congestion and reduce vehicular emissions. We’re offering free rides for commuters to experience the new mobility option and see the magic of Uber in a bus ride. We are confident that this will encourage more commuters to ditch their personal car and take an Uber Shuttle ride which is affordable, convenient, and hassle-free,” said Amit Deshpande, Head - Uber Shuttle, India.

Under government scanner for differential fare between an Android and iOS user along with Ola, Uber said that they do not set prices based on a rider’s phone manufacturer. “We look forward to working with the Central Consumer Protection Authority to clear up any misunderstanding.”
