Microsoft launches new Surface for Business Copilot+ PC line up with Intel Core Ultra processors

Microsoft on Thursday (January 30, 2025) launched the latest Surface for Business Copilot+ PC line up which includes the Surface Pro and Surface laptop with series 2 Intel Core Ultra processors.

The U.S. based company also said that for the first time, 5G will be coming to Surface laptop for Business, later in 2025.

Surface laptop for Business

The new Surface laptop for Business claims to offer a battery life up to 22 hours, and Wi-Fi 7, more ports and an optional smart card reader. It comes in two sizes: the 13.8 inch and a 14 inch screens.

The keyboard on Surface laptop has haptic touchpad. It also allows users to adjust pressure sensitivity and use intuitive touch gestures for easier navigation.

It will be available starting February 18, at $1,499.99, starting.

Surface Pro

Surface Pro features Intel Core Ultra processors (series 2) in a thin form factor. It features enhanced local AI processing power with an NPU to amplify intelligence.

It can be paired with the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard. The keyboard can be used either attached or wirelessly.

The Surface Pro features a 13-inch PixelSense touch sensitive display. The new optional OLED display delivers new levels of peak brightness and immersive colours, claims Microsoft.

Surface Pro comes with facial recognition with the built-in Windows Hello Camera or the built-in NFC reader with security keys like the YubiKey 5C NFC for secure login. It is also certified for use with Imprivata Enterprise Access Management (EAM) for healthcare providers to tap their NFC-enabled badge or security key to quickly sign in and out.

The Copilot+ PCs also come with the Microsoft Pluton security processor enabled by default on all Copilot+ PCs. Pluton, a chip-to-cloud security technology designed by Microsoft and embedded by silicon partners directly into the CPU. It helps protect sensitive information such as passwords, user identities and encryption keys from potential attacks.

Pluton also gets regular updates directly from Microsoft. Microsoft is working across the Windows ecosystem to update the capabilities of Pluton by introducing the Key Storage Provider (KSP) on Intel Core Ultra (Series 2), Snapdragon X Series and AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors.

Surface USB4 Dock

Microsoft also unveiled the new Surface USB4 Dock, with two USB-C, one USB-A, Ethernet and HDMI ports. It delivers fast charging with up to 65 W and fast data transfer of up to 40 Gbps. It offers dual 4K monitor support, via USB-C or HDMI.

It will be available starting February 18, at $199.99.

Surface Hub 3

The Surface Hub 3 is the first-party Teams Rooms touch board. Microsoft Edge on Surface Hub 3 will offer access to websites, third-party web apps and personal content, with a home screen button for walk-up browsing. Edge will run in Kiosk Mode for privacy and security, and Edge sessions can be shared into Teams meetings. The general availability for Edge on Hub 3 is expected in Q3 2025.

Microsoft is also adding Miracast support to Teams Rooms on Windows devices for wireless projection from a Surface PC to Surface Hub 3.
