Samsung to launch Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 successors next week in India

Samsung on Wednesday (February 26, 2025) said that it is going to launch three new Galaxy A series smartphones in India next week. The South Korean firm said that “Galaxy A is Samsung’s most successful smartphone series in India, with Samsung selling millions of these devices every year.”

Samsung said that the new Galaxy A series smartphones will succeed Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 smartphones launched last year. The third phone is expected to be the new Galaxy A26.

“Galaxy A series smartphones are likely to feature new design, enhanced durability, and advanced security ensuring a seamless and secure user experience,” the company said.

If these will be the new devices overtaking Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55, then their name should be ‘Galaxy A36’ and ‘Galaxy A56.’

Launched last year in March, both Galaxy A35 and Galaxy A55 featured Exynos processor. However, this year the ‘Galaxy A36’ and ‘Galaxy A55’ might ship with Snapdragon processors, and probably in budget to mid segment.

Both, Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 had a 6.6 inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness. Their successors are likely to use the same display.

Samsung used a 50 MP main lens, a 12 MP ultrawide sensor, and a 5 MP macro camera in Galaxy A55 5G. It had a 32 MP front camera. The Galaxy A35 5G came with a 50 MP primary camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens and a 5 MP macro. It shipped with a 13 MP front lens.

The ‘Galaxy A36’ and ‘Galaxy A56’ phones are likely to use a similar camera set up this year as well.

Both the phones were launched with a 5,000 mAh battery in 2024 and the new models are expected to come with the same battery power.

Samsung has also announced to launch the new Galaxy M16 5G and M06 5G in India soon.
