Nothing’s co-founder Akis Evangelidis to lead India operations, plans retail expansion

Nothing on Wednesday (February 26, 2025) appointed its co-founder Akis Evangelidis as India President where he will lead the next phase of growth for the company. His elevation comes just before a week of Phone 3a series global launch on March 4.

Nothing is looking to double down on its investments in India and expand its retail presence to over 12,000 stores in 2025.

The London-based tech start up claims it registered +577% year-over-year growth in 2024 as per Counterpoint data, and emerged as the fastest-growing brand in India’s smartphone market due to demand for the Phone 2a series and its sub-brand, CMF.

Recently, Nothing had claimed that the company has surpassed $1 billion lifetime revenue in four years ago, and over half of that revenue came in 2024.

“India is one of the most important markets for Nothing and we believe there is a tremendous opportunity to become a leading consumer tech brand in the country. I’m very excited to step into this new role and continue to bring distinctive, design-led tech innovations to Indian consumers. India will play a pivotal role in the global smartphone industry in the years to come, and we’re committed to accelerating our ‘Make in India’ initiatives and boosting domestic production,” said Akis Evangelidis, India President and co-Founder, Nothing.
